I loaded Microsoft Security Essentials years ago. It used to take about 2 hours to run a full scan. It now takes over 10 hours to do a full scan. I periodically delete things I don't use. I cancelled AOL and uninstalled it completely. So why the 10 hour scan? Karen Garner L.

Wasting time scanning non system files that do not change day to day. A more efficient way is to run a "Custom scan" on C: only, your System partition.
